Wood Flooring Installation Guide
Floating Installation
Floating installation is suitable for fitting all laminate and click system engineered flooring. Solid wood floors should not be floated. Floating floors are predominantly 'click' fit systems and are not bonded to the subfloor.
Laminate flooring and click system engineered wood flooring can be floated over PVC, linoleum, rubber and wooden subfloors providing they are clean, stable and even. Floating floors require underlay to be installed between the subfloor and the flooring, see our product specific installation guides for full details.
Full Stick Down
Full Stick Down is a suitable method for fitting for all engineered wood and solid wood flooring. The flooring is bonded directly to the subfloor with a recommended adhesive system. The adhesives are suitable for use on wooden and concrete subfloors providing they meet the manufacturer's requirements.
Nailed
Solid wood flooring and tongue and groove engineered wood flooring can be nailed or screwed to a wooden subfloor. In some cases it is recommended that ply subfloor be installed to improve the fit and durability of you new floor. A porta-nailer can be used to deliver secret nails at 45 degrees into the flooring tongue.
